About
Andrew Pak is a composer, arranger, producer, and pianist based in Boston. Inspired by world music’s textures, jazz harmonies, and classical craft, he creates new sonic blends that others have called “cinematic”, “Ghibli-like”, and “beautifully breathtaking”.
Starting his journey early as a classical pianist, he worked extensively as a piano accompanist for local music schools, colleges, and churches across Massachusetts. He has also accumulated diverse performing experiences between playing oboe in a local youth orchestra and serving as a church organist under the American Guild of Organists (AGO). After spending a year living abroad in Thailand as a volunteer worker music teacher and finding a distinct purpose in building community and bridging gaps through music, he made a significant pivot to focus on composition and production of new music. In this world, he found immense joy in collaborating with others to bring new music and fresh reinterpretations of existing music to life. He especially enjoys combining his interest in folk/traditional music across the world with modern styles using his classical training as a compositional foundation. He will soon hold a degree in Contemporary Writing & Production from Berklee College of Music.
As a freelance arranger, producer, transcriber, and copyist, Andrew has developed experience in multiple genres ranging from R&B to Mandopop to orchestral styles, among others. His versatility and sensitivity to clients' visions have earned him consistent praise and satisfaction with every service provided. Andrew is dedicated to storytelling--telling his own stories, as well as helping to bring others' stories to life.
Aside from writing and producing, he is passionately dedicated to the development of youth music programs to build community and foster holistic education of mind and spirit. He is currently the founding director of the youth praise team at Boston Korean SDA Church in Stoneham and a private lesson music teacher in the Greater Boston area.
